Bloganuary Day 12

I use the thumbs-up emoji a lot. Why? Because I want to encourage people.

If someone is doing something that could be hard, I would like to encourage them along. Like, climbing a mountain:

Or, my friend wishes to share her joy:

Or, she wishes to share beauty:

Or, wisdom:

Encouragement gives people strength and confidence to go on. It makes them feel they’ve someone on their side. It’s such a simple symbol, but it can convey much to someone who receives it.

Psalm 121

A Song of Ascents

A guided meditation

May the pictures and the verses speak to you

I lift up my eyes to the mountains—
    where does my help come from?

My help comes from the Lord,
    the Maker of heaven and earth.

He will not let your foot slip—
    he who watches over you will not slumber;

indeed, he who watches over Israel
    will neither slumber nor sleep.

The Lord watches over you—
    the Lord is your shade at your right hand;
the sun will not harm you by day,
    nor the moon by night.

The Lord will keep you from all harm—
    he will watch over your life;

the Lord will watch over your coming and going
    both now and forevermore. (NIV)
